I often wonder......

How can the Europeans have the gall, to lecture the USA on gun ownership?

Aloha, Mark

PS.....but, there may be some hope. Maybe.
Swiss gun fans blast EU-Schengen restrictions

For those stuck-up, arrogant leftist pricks, they're ready to lecture us on just about everything. My friend from Germany last visited here in Dec. 2016 and about all I heard was how F'd up America was for electing Trump - how our voting system is wrong, how our guns are bad, how our lack of getting involved more in the global community is bad, etc., etc. I looked at him and said - everything you noted, I'm good with. He seemed very confused. And when I told him my honest opinion of the great disappointment, Obama, I thought he was going to need a cry room. Before he went home, he said he wouldn't return to the US so long as Trump was President, I left him with this - it's going to be a long 8 years before we see each other again.

I'm thinking we may not be such good friends any longer...;)

I have lived in Europe for 5 years and travel back every year or two. Was there 90 days in 2015 and will be there another 90 next spring. Last time I was with my Irish/English cousins we talked a lot about the Brexit stuff and politics in general. He told me there was no doubt that the British would vote to leave the EU and he loved Trump long before he was nominated. My German friends and Hungarian inlaws are the same. The Hungarians keep sending positive articles from there papers on Trunp. Europe is full of people like us but the leadership has such a socialist tradition that the politics lean far from the typical working person. There are notable exceptions, and like here, things are beginning to move back. Even the French have a more conservitive (for them) leader today. The former Soviet puppet states in the east have shown to be quite conservitive after getting out from under the Russian Boot. They have been very supportive of US policy and stronger than we are with illegal migrant immigration. The thing they don't have is the wisdom of our founders and the second amendment.

Thanks man :) I'd do the same. He's a good guy, we've been friends for 30 years. But it's become more and more evident that we've taken different paths in life. I still like the guy, despite his flaws ;), I just don't know if he can still tolerate me

The French soldier may, or may not be any good today....but two things: Le Legion Etrangere isn't (usually) a French soldier...many (most?)come from other countries. And I suspect you could rate them as equal or better than other small elite outfits.

And as mentioned, French leadership sucks. I can't think of one "war" they've ever won...not in Mexico, the Franco Prussian in 1870, not WWI if it weren't for US, nor WWII (can you say Vichy?), nor Viet Nam, Algeria, etc.

Sure they won some battles (at least Napoleon) but he lost to the British navy, on the Peninsula, and he didn't bring any mittens to Moscow.
