I am looking at a Weatherby Mark V for sale and was interested in some opinions. This is an early German-made low serial # (approx 8000). The stock has a number of scrathes and one really good indentation about the size of a dime where it hit something pretty hard. The caliber is 7mm Weatherby. There is just the hint of rust starting on the barrel, but otherwise it is pretty good.

I'm just thinking about $500 but I'm not sure if the early serial # would bump it up a couple hundred?

Any opinions help.

Thanks.

You are in the right ballpark. You could bump a little if you didn't have the rust, has it actually pitted yet?

I doubt you could do more than $800 for it in perfect shape, at least without chasing someone who needs that particular model for some kind of collection.

It is one fine hunting rifle, though.
