This has been something I have been saying for years. I usually qualify the statement first by explaining that since guns are solely an emotional issue to them. I will only use an emotional argument.
I think that is the whole meaning behind the "From my cold dead hands" argument.

Yeah but this is WAY less syllables, more offensive, and therefore WAY more fun to say!

My argument: "Alcohol 75,000. Guns 32,000. Which needs Prohibition more?"

(Might be 88,000. I've seen both numbers in recent CDC propaganda.)
