I just wish there was an enemy we could fight that was extraterrestrial!I was up late watching WWII documentaries.
My observation was we do much better as a country when the enemy is external.

Except it's the government... so it'll probably just take longer for everything.
15 month waits on you single shot .22lr...
I don't want to, it's depressing.Indeed. Just look at the NFA waits.
In other words, the fastest way to get a job done is to do it right the first time?Slow is smooth.
Smooth is fast - Not a myth.
I'll bet you're mistaking 380 Auto for the 38 ACP. Same diameter, different case.It used to be somewhat uncommon to see 38 ACP before a few companies like SIG , Beretta, Taurus and a slew of recalibered Makarovs flooded the country. I see 38 ACP everywhere I buy ammo.
Or New York cops...Tactical reload: when your trigger finger seizure has overwhelmed your ability to count that high.
( Don't you just giggle when you hear about a police shooting where there were 48 rounds fired, 3 cats, one Volvo, and a barn were destroyed completely missing the bad guy AT POINT BLANK RANGE. California cops, go figure)
some exaggeration, but true

Maybe I'll pick up a can for 9mm... granted "fastish" is 3 months, yeah?I hear you. At least eForms is fastish these days.
38 Super is readily available on Amazon and E Bay and many other on line sites.

...I have never heard this before, and the article is dated, but it seems like bubblegum to me?

For sure a myth and a pet peeve of mine! All of my hunting ammo and some of my PD ammo is handloaded. It's the last thing I'm worried about.Similar to the myth that using handloads in a successful defensive gun use would garner extra scrutiny.
I'd jump on that if that's the case, but do you think it has anything to do with your new FFL?My last NFA shenanigans was a Form 1 on eForms and it was just under a month. Which compared to the near or over a year long wait is stunning.
I'd jump on that if that's the case, but do you think it has anything to do with your new FFL?
No legal merit in OR.

I've played around with the idea of bird shot for home defense...as I love to hunt grouse and always seem to have a shotgun of some sort handy with #7 1/2 and #6 bird shot with it...
Yeah #9 shot not so much to like for this role....#7 1/2 is better....#6 better still and #4 seems to have it down well...at least out of my guns and for the distances in my home....
Regardless of what shot or gun I have....I ain't going to curl up and wait to die , just cause all I have is a bird gun and birdshot...

Here's a guy with a definite opinion.... Tho I think I agree with the comment that all the pics are of shots taken in excess of 10yds: No! Birdshot Does Not Work For Self Defense – John1911.com Gun Blog
