But will they improve their QC and customer service? Doubt it.
Depends on who is in charge. There is nothing about their designs or machine tools that precludes good QA/QC, it just takes commitment from management to have a good organization that has the right culture. It really does start at the top when it comes to this issue - if you have management that cares and is willing to do what it takes, then eventually the rest of it falls into place. If you don't then even if the workers want to have quality, they are fighting against management to get it.
 
I look on this as excellent news. That branch and the politics of NY have been a major liability and business risk on the Remington name for a long time. Getting out of there is a long overdue move and it could be a concrete indicator that Roundhill (the new owners) has their head in the game for the long term and aren't just using the brand as a commodity like Freedom Group did.
