Sadly this speaks to a couple things. One the dumbing down of the populace. That they could get a jury to go along with this shows how successful they have been.
Two, it shows why if you get called for jury duty you should make every effort to do your part. You could be the person next at a court with them trying to convict you of something this stupid. Do you want the jury pool made up of the same ones who did this?

I suspect a blanket law banning firearms possession for association with a group is effectively bill of attainder (basically a legislature declaring a group or individual guilty of a crime and punishing them) and likely will be challenged on that principle...

NRA is declared a terrorist organization (actually has been said by some politicians) and all members are banned from owning firearms.

NWFA is declared a terrorist organization and all members are banned from owning firearms.

All gun ranges are declared terrorist training facilities and all members are banned from owning firearms.

This would be an easy way to implement gun control.

No doubt it will be fought in court, and hopefully beat. What really bothers me is that they got some prosecutor to do this in the first place and got a jury to go along with it. Shows just how bad things are.

Guilt by association is wrong , no matter who does it or for what reason.
The same goes for most blanket statements about people and various organizations.

When deciding someone's fate in court or whether or not they should continue with a particular right you must :
Look at that particular individual and their actions and statements...
If Possible do some independent research....
Understand that whoever presents research , findings , information , may put a certain spin on it , use it for their ends or gain...And remember to look at everything thru both sides of the spectrum.

Also what is applied to one group of people , may very easily be turned or used against a different group , thru "creative editing" or word smithing ....The novel "1984" , comes to mind here.

I was thinking the same thing. On one hand, they hate guns just like every other bunch of lefties. OTOH, there are some pretty clear 1A, 2A, and 5A violations here.
