    The word "clone" might be a good one to add to the post here. Just to avoid confusion.

    Also it's a .22LR

    All GSG-5's are .22lr. No need to add the word clone.

    Why are the windage/elevation knobs on the top and *left* side of the red dot sight???

    Cuz those red dots are cheesy. I have a couple of Barska scopes and they are a great scope for the money but I bought and returned their red dot sight. They are junk, poorly built and like you said, the controls are goofy.
