Original post:

Hey NWFA!

I was organizing a group buy for another group I'm in and realized that maybe this is something that you guys would want too.

This goes for local pickup, or shipping for those not in the metro area.

Going off the honor system...
No prepayment required
When the triggers arrive, I will reach out for Payment. The shipment quote was 7 business days.

SPECS:

The MBT-2S breaks crisply at 4.5 lbs (2.5 lb first stage, 2 lb second stage) and has a smooth and positive reset. Each trigger comes with an additional "heavy" trigger spring that increases the pull weight to 6 lbs.

The MBT-2S Trigger includes the trigger, hammer, springs (Light and Heavy) and hammer and trigger pins.

Made in-house, in Texas, in the USA.

NOTE: This trigger only works with Small Pin Lower Receivers/.154

We can do without a shipping charge, we'd just have to settle up via another method after I receive them but before I ship :s0155:

I'm going to use this post and edit for ease of a single list somewhere. None of this is "set in stone", but the working list until cutoff.

Very much appreciate that, but just in case something goes odd and the shipment gets delayed, I'd prefer not to accept funds until the triggers are in hand!

I understand. I'll put funds aside for the purchase. Thank you for putting this together. :s0155:

This design looks quite similar to the geissele ssa-e triggers. Anyone reading have experience with both and care to chime in on a relative comparison?

Same process I went through!

I found tons of reviews, most said they are very similar, so save the money and go with the MBT, then of course there are preferences on both sides. This was a good write up:

With the rise of great 2 stage triggers there's 2 that seem to pop up the most. The LaRue MBT-2s and the Giessele SSA-E. Both come highly recommended wherever you look. Also both are compared to each other quite often. It boils down to personal preference on which is "better". As the owner of both I come to show them off. First we will start with the larue since I've had the most time behind it.

I ordered the larue trigger during one of their $99 deals. Upon receiving the trigger i was impressed as it was my first go with a 2 stage trigger. It has a wider trigger which lets you get a nice placement on it. LaRue states the pull weight is 2lb first 2.5lb second. Mine pulls a little lighter at a little over 1lb first stage and same for second coming in at about a 3.5lb total pull. First stage is smooth and somewhat short and the pull is pretty short and extremely crisp. Reset is somewhat long (especially if you're used to single stage triggers). I have it in my 20in precision bases build. For the price it's pretty hard to beat. It's tough to get to run fast, but let's be honest. That's not what a nice 2 stage is inherently for. With practice you can get it running good, but for normal non rapid fire shooting it does wonders. One big bonus on it is the disconector is pinned to the trigger. Which makes it extremely easy to install. When purchasing the trigger when it's not in sale you get 2 options. $129 if you have time or $199 if you want it now. Either option is well worth the money.

On to the ssa-e

I received This trigger for free from a buddy a few weeks ago. It's a really nice trigger, extremely similar to the LaRue. It's a bit skinnier and slightly more curved to my eye. Install is on par with every mill spec trigger. The disconector is a seperate piece unlike the larue. As far as pull the first stage is a little longer and a tad bit heavier. The second stage does have a tiny amount of softness before the break. When you start to let out on the trigger to reset it almost pushes the trigger back. I don't have a trigger pull scale in hand to get exact numbers at this time. Like the larue it takes some practice if you want to get it running. Price wise it's a little more than the LaRue. They sometimes go on sale for $180, but every day price seems to be about $220.

Pull and release

In conclusion both are extremely similar trigger with a slightly different price point. Personally I prefer the LaRue over the geissele. It's up to you to decide on which trigger is right for you. Either choice will get you a great 2 stage trigger. Both come with their own trigger pins. The LaRue also comes with an extra heavier trigger spring to bring the pull weight up a little bit.

These are amazing, esp considering the cost. Nice clean break. If you're on the fence, I'd recommend getting one.
If I remember correctly, these were close to $250 when they first came out. Larue wanted to take a portion of the trigger market share, increased production, reduced costs and passed them to the end user.
@Lasers, I don't need one now but if someone doesn't come through, I'll take one as backup & to ease your burden (edit: straight bow). Thank you for putting this together.

Question, if you get enough buyers will the price be discounted?

Either way put me down for one of the curved triggers. Thanks!

Got you down! I don't think so, last time I did this we ended up ordering just over 50 and it didn't get better. They did throw in a handful of hats lol (not 50 unfortunately). If they do that again, maybe we can us them for a NWFA volunteer giveaway or something?

These are my favorite trigger. The only problem with them is that after you try them, every AR pattern rifle you have will have to have them. That can be quite a few for some people.

I have 4 of these triggers, they are my favorite without spending the money for a geissele. Very nearly as good for a lot less money. IMO the best overall trigger for the money.
