Yep, a "safe space" for online sales transactions (Craigslist, etc.), a place to transfer children between divorced parents, etc.

It's at City Hall, well lit with reserved spaces and it's under video surveillance. Their idea is that it might help discourage bad guys from doing bad things during these types of transactions.

I wonder if, pre-SB 941 such a space would have gotten much use by private gun sellers? I wonder if any 'non-compliant' folks would be gutsy enough to pull a stunt like that in such a space?

Here's a link to the story:

Gresham creates 'safe exchange zone' for custody transfers, property sales

My '94 F250 Supercab was stolen at the Gresham City Hall parking lot.
I went inside to file a report, the desk officer asked where it was parked,
Right outside, in your parking lot, he went Doh...

Recovered (dumped) at Lloyd Center, stripped.

That stinks. My brother had his truck stolen years ago, by some chance he went out to dinner and the truck was parked at the restaurant. He called the police and it took them over an hour to get there - thankfully the loser didn't leave before they got there - he of course, recovered the truck.
