Unfortunately the lovely voters in Oregon gave him carte blanche to do anything he wants - a legislature with a majority of Dems in both. It will be virtually impossible to stop them now, save for them making a mistake that can be challenged in the courts. I fear this is the beginning of the end of the freedom we've had here. Might as well change our name to North California.

Or Southern Washington......

Here is a sample of what we have to look forward to: http://www.alloutdoor.com/2014/11/1...com&utm_medium=RSS+Feed&utm_campaign=RSS+Feed

The guns are being taken forcibly, and citizens are being arrested, often not because of some action of theirs but by an action of the government. As stated in the press release, "The [California] DOJ maintains the Armed Prohibited Persons System (APPS), an on-line database that cross-references persons who possess a gun and who, subsequent to possession of that gun, are legally prohibited from possession."

In other words, they keep dibs on who has guns, Then when more restrictive laws are passed, they steal some of those guns. As more laws are passed, more and more guns will be taken. Historically, this is a trend that cannot be reversed and will continue until the citizenry are disarmed and thus helpless to repel criminals both private (thieves, rapists, murderers, etc) and public (government).

For those targeted, there is little that can be done, although some see minor relief after a lot of hassle and headaches. One man had his guns and ammunition confiscated by police because his wife had voluntarily checked herself into a hospital for three days after some medication had altered her mental state. The guns were later returned after much red tape and waiting – but the government never returned the stolen ammunition.

The simple act of checking herself into a hospital and associating that with mental illness had placed the wife on a list of prohibited persons, triggering the government intrusion.

Nice how the govt gets to ignore ex post facto laws when it comes to firearms.

Let's turn that dream into a nightmare in 2016 by making her start looking for a new job. maybe she can go to work for the Governor's sleep in lobbyist?

..... contacted Kevin from OFF a week or 2 ago, and TRIED to explain to him that HE really needed to gear up OFF because of the gun law passing in WA.

His response was one of "surprise" that he wasn't doing enough, that he thought he was doing everything he could/should.
........
I STRONGLY, STRONGLY encourage everyone to send him an e-mail, supporting him and his efforts, encouraging him to gear up for a fight against Doc. K, and support him with $$ IF you are happy with his future actions.

If everyone sent him $5, he'd have some "working money" to start with.

He needs our support, but he also needs to make OFF a lot stronger of a organization if we are to succeed.

I'm bumping this to keep it in the FRONT of readers mind, so you (We) can follow up.

I sent my $5.00:), along with another quick email.

Did YOU?:)

Shameless plug: OFF does a great job at the state and legislative levels. And they make good use of the money people send their way. But there is only so much they can accomplish and do a good job at without getting outside of their mission statement and spread too thin. So while OFF is pushing from the state level down, there is an opportunity to organize and push from the bottom up, and squeeze the issue of gun-control in the middle like it got in a tangle with a boa conscriptor.

Well, check out the 2nd Amendment Action Center. Its a new grassroots organization that is hoping to fill that niche by focusing on activities at the city and country level. You can think of it as the "community organizer" for the 2nd amendment in the state of Oregon ;)

https://www.facebook.com/2ndAmendmentActionCenter

Things the group plans to focus on:
  • Empowering activists (Do you know how to reach your legislator, or when their town halls are? How to ask questions and put politicians on the spot? Do you know others in your area who feel the same? Would you be willing to teach or lead others?)
  • Education and outreach (things you can do to expose the Bloomberg/Kitz message, and educate the public in a way that counters it as well)
  • encouraging civic engagement (effective things you can do to make the politicians feel welcome at events. Or not ;))
  • Media outlet (That politician said what?)
Right now the group is small, but it's growing fast. Like the page, sign up on the website, keep tabs on the politicians and communicate. Let's get organized and let the politicians know we won't give up. Ever.
