This is the Intratec Scorpion (tec-22) .22lr I picked up at a gun auction a few days ago. There was a little surface wear and a few rust spots, but most of it cleaned up pretty decent.

I've heard almost nothing but bad things about how cheap and crappy these guns are, but I've always wanted one because of all the cool ads they use to run for them in Soldier of Fortune magazine back in the '80s when I was a kid.

It didn't come with a mag, but they use 10/22 mags, so yesterday I took it out and used a tactical innovations mag in it. It fit real loose in the mag well (left to right movement), but it never malfunctioned through about 70 rounds, and was surprisingly accurate and fun to shoot....until the front sight post fell off. That can be easily fixed with some super glue though, hopefully. Otherwise, I'll just hold it sideways when I shoot it and pretend to aim. It seems to works for gangbangers at least.

It's not something I plan on shooting much, as they're poorly made and parts are expensive and fairly hard to come by, but it looks cool, and it looks even cooler sitting next to the coolest junk gun of all time, the tec 9:

I also picked up another nylon 66 (black and chrome), which is the greatest thing since prostitution:

And I also got this super ugly, super funky old mossberg .22lr:

All in all it was good time at the auction, but a massive waste of money on oddball guns in calibers I don't need anymore of. But, none of them are something you can buy on a regular basis without buying online and spending a lot more money, so I'm happy with them.

Junk guns are cheap to buy, very often work well, especially Mossbergs, and nobody else wants them..thus the cheap part.

Heck, look how the milsurps have been selling, and they are sure not bee yoo tee ful..except when you shoot them.

Totally agree! It is pretty fun to go to the range with our 'un'fancy $90 Mosins and start blasting targets. Pretty soon a bunch of old timers from the other range have come over to see what the heck we're shooting! They thought we brought mini-cannons along. :s0114:

That Mossberg looks like a model 151M Just ask me how I knew that;) I like some junkers too.

What's the fascination with "junk" guns? My philosophy is "life is too short to dance with ugly chicks" am I missing something here?

Personally, I'll dance with any girl who's willing, no matter how hideously ugly she is. Beggars can't be choosers you know.

I like guns that look cool, and I especially like guns that look cool and are cheap. Sure, if I was rich, I'd have a lot more nice guns...but I'd also have a whole lot more cheap guns too.

And you're correct about the mossberg Deadeye. It's a 151M-B. I don't consider it or the nylon 66 junk guns though, just the intratec. I only posted pics of the other two guns because they look cool (to me anyway).
