Look at Winchester. Ask 1000 hunters nationwide to define control-round-feed. No one gives a damn anymore.
Not sure I buy this part of your post, but mine isn't a Winchester.
The "Glockification" is a great way to put what's happened in the rifle world. Rifles made the way it was done post WWII and exhibiting machined steel and wood are expensive. A new take on building rifles has really brought the price down while retaining reliability. Some of them are even getting "good looking". The OP's done a nice job with his American, but I was looking at a stainless American compact the other day. Kinda liked what I saw. May have to buy one just to play with it for a while.
Totally agree. I have the same rifle and it shoots the poo outta the other bunch I own. Well maybe except for a CZ in .270.I have a RAR in .308, with one buck taken with it. It shoots MOA, and there's no reason to believe yours won't either. "Gun snobs" turn their noses at the "budget wonders"... but you can put a round right in their nostril from 100yds. easily if you do you part once it's dialed in to your scope.
