Good price for primers?

I found a store (not really a firearms store) selling large pistol primers-100 for $4.99. Is that a good price? I'm not a reloader yet, but would like to start gathering components to do so soon. Just wondering if that's a deal or not.

No no that is not a good price. They should be around $3/100. unfortunately right now do to the current shortage, prices are inflated. Wait a few more months and things will come back down to a more reasonable price as the suppliers catch up.

Thanks for the info. I haven't seen them around anywhere for some time, so thought that that price might be worth it even if it was a bit high. Glad I checked.

Well somebody will probably buy them but if I were you I'd either pass on them or only by a few and try your hand at reloading if your all set up already and only need components.
