Good place to install a small safe?

I have small square non-gun combination safe (about 1.5 cubic foot) that I could put pretty much anywhere in the house. Not for Ft. Knox-like security or super valuables - just a fun alternative to a ceramic piggy bank on the dresser. Maybe pull aside a painting on the den wall ala Maxwell Smart? Seriously, it has drillable steel walls like a low-end gunsafe, so I can bolt it into a beam or stud from inside.

I'm interested in reading some opinions here - maybe gather some logic beyond my own.

Put it in the laundry room or garage with a cuircut breaker front panel over top.
