Gosh that was a week or more ago Slim. Looks like you and I are in the same boat...we just DON'T get to town much! Yes Kroger took the stand up attitude. They run the Albertson's stores in Washington too if you didn't know. Unfortunately for my area we lost our Albertson's perhaps 8 to 10 years ago. I loved going in there for the 10 for $10 Sales!! Sobe drinks were a favorite (and still are). Grab a rotisserie bird and cole slaw...those were the days.

Safeway Bought Albertsons here, and sold some of them to Hagens. Or Albertsons bought Safeway. I don't know but they merged now.

Kroger (Fred Meyer) and Harris Teeter are models of good, American companies. I look forward to supporting Fred Meyer (no Harris Teeter or Kroger near me) for years to come.

Now if only Freddie's would carry firearms and ammo at more of their locations...

Kroger doesn't operate any Albertson's stores.

Well I don't know about the rest of you but I really miss my old Albertson's store up here in Skagit county. Probably been 10 years now it's been gone. Someone on another gun site said Kroger owns Albertson's. IDK and I don't care WHO OWNS/RUNS Albertson's I JUST WANT A NEW Albertson's here or in Woolley.

I HATE HAGGEN'S. As far as I'm concerned Haggen's corporate can go straight to Hell. I went to their store off Division some years ago for a half rack of Pepsi. First off walking in from a real nice sunny day outside I was BLINDED by the hospital clean shininess of their floors. It HURT MY EYES!!! First time in that store. I see an employee 50 feet away walking toward me I say "hey gal where's the pop at?" She hasn't heard me so I bump it up a notch. HEY GAL WHERE"S the pop at? She see's me but hasn't answered me yet and she's just 20 feet away now. At 10 feet I am looking her square in the eyes and say "where's the pop?"
She gets all flustered and launches at me her version of Political Correctness in all of it's BS and condescension and I cut her off and say somewhat loudly very slowly so even an immigrant from Mars would understand me and say W-H-E-R-E---I-S---T-H-E---P-O-P??? She's still letting me have it so I take it up another notch and tell her where she can jam it and then I go WWII Royal Navy on her and completely shut her down.

No...if tomorrow I saw in the local rag here the Haggen's in Mt V got blown up or burned down I'd run over there in my truck and DO A JIG right there in the parking lot with firemen all around me.

I do probably about 95% of my shopping at Fred Meyer and will continue do so even more now! I get all my prescriptions there and food, they have the best produce that I can find (south Salem Fred Meyer) it is always the cleanest and freshest. The people that work there are always very nice and the fuel points are awesome, yes on some things they are a few cents more but to me it is worth it.

Want to really show how much this influences your decision to shop at Fred Meyer? When you're there, ask to speak to a supervisor or manager. Tell them that you support the CEOs decision.
