So I got the bug to build a Glock from scratch.
I've pondered the Polymer 80 route but the cost and extra fiddling didn't pencil out for me.

Found a NIB Glock 19 frame for $75 (Ventura Munitions) and that started a torrent of incoming parts orders.

Barrel and slide from 80P Builder
The 80P slides are dehorned like a Gen 5

UPK, LPK and locking block OEM Glock from Midway

I'm up to $530 already so you're not going to save anything doing this unless you can find some wicked good deals. I scoured the Interwebz pretty well.
Learning the platform inside out will be a benefit, though.

Still need mags, sights and channel liner install tool.
And maybe I missed something else.

Should have all the parts next week.

Before you invest in a channel liner install tool, see if the liner will just go in without having to force it, using something like the eraser-end of a pencil.

After spending money on my liner install tool I found the liner slipped in so easily that a little finger could have accomplished the same thing. Kind of disappointing. That was on a Swenson slide.

Too late.....tool inbound.

Here's kind of an "old timey" website that features some cool stuff at honest prices.
Shipping is extremely reasonable.
Tools for Glock
All kinds of uncommon stuff if you dig around.

Trijicon HD XR sights and mags inbound.
Going to try Gen 5 mags.
Budget is blown.

:)

Depending on the seller maybe you can send it back, unopened? Anyway perhaps we can save a future unnecessary purchase!
Being a tool, it might be a little funky (ie. tool rental) trying to send back.

Anyway, during my explorations I had found a NIB G19 frame for $65 at Southern Guns.
Their $20 shipping turned me away but I left it in my cart.
Now they just sent me a free shipping voucher.

The G19 frames are sold out but there appears to be some G17's left.
Glock 17 22 Gen 3 Stripped Frame $65 !
Coupon code FLFREE for the free shipping.

So I've got the G19 done and ready for a test drive.

Suarez slide
KKM barrel
Lone Wolf SS guide rod and ISMI spring
Trijicon HD XR sights
Deltac extended take down lever
Overwatch TAC trigger
OEM minus connector
.25 trigger job
Vickers mag release
Gen 5 mags

These are easier to build (assemble) than an AR and AR's are pretty easy.
And it's another amazing design.
The trigger right now with all stock springs is 3lb -12oz

Next to try (after break-in) will be :
4.5lb Wolff striker spring (1lb less than OEM)
Wolff reduced power safety plunger spring
47021 ejector

Edit:
I did some exchanging, most notably the barrel and slide since my first post.
Found a wicked good deal on the slide and settled on the KKM barrel.
The Suarez slide design is more developed than the 80P.
