About 2 months ago I went into Keith's and I noticed that the shelves were bare - basically no selection of any rifles, handguns, or ammo. I have been wanting an HK P30 so I have been looking in the classifieds here for a used one. I keep missing deals here that are selling for around $800. I believe I even saw a fella here asking $1400 for a used one

Well I learned yesterday that I was making an inaccurate assumption that there are still no guns available at the gun dealerships. I decided to stop in Keith's on the way home yesterday and to my surprise there were lots of guns and ammo including plenty of AR's and lots of HK pistols in every configuration. I was out the door with a new HK P30 in less than 30 mins for $860. Needless to say, I am now glad that I missed the deals in the classifieds since I ended up with a new gun for the same or less than guys are selling them for used.

So again, it may be a good idea to check out a new gun before you overpay for a used one.

i agree im getting sick and tired of seeing ''bnib'' 10/22's for 350.00 bucks when i see them constantly back in stock for 210.00 at many retailers around town

Don't forget, many of the guns that seem over priced, are the ones that are rare, hard to get, seldom seen, minty, in good condition for it's age, low round count, or perhaps not being made anymore.

Best,
Gary

Too bad we have that no thread crappin' rule. A guy can't even inform the gouger that it's price is out of line :)

I understand what you are saying here Gary but that is not what I am referring to in this thread. Notice that my examples were of the gun that I purchased yesterday which is a newer, modern, handgun. Some that I have seen in the classifieds have been reasonably priced, others not so much. I noticed a fella (won't mention names here) had a "Like to Trade" thread for a HK P30. Shortly after the trade was complete, he posted the gun in "Like to sell" for about $600 more than what I paid for my new gun. I may be wrong but I think that is a bit of a "gouge."

I was in Eastern WA yesterday and decided to stop by an Ace Hardware to see what they had for ammo. Shelves were stocked but my attention quickly turned to the sub 2000 sitting there behind the glass. Grabbed it up for 349.00. Felt like I found a little treasure, Ace Hardware of all places!

I stopped at Keith's about two weeks ago. Was surprised at how much they had in stock, and they had good prices. Even managed to pick up some ammo.
Unfortunately they are too far from my home and I made it a point to drive all the way out there just to check them out. I did buy a used Walther PPQ 9mm
from them at the gun show two weeks ago. Reasonably priced and great service.

The "No thread crapping" rule is terrible. You can't even point out when a seller is making things up. I saw one a few days ago about a certain shotgun "No longer being imported". o_O

The ammo and accessories sections are absolutely worthless right now. The reloading section isn't *as* bad, but it's not good either.

There was also that one guy selling his 'collection' as part of a moving sale... Somehow ending up with new cases of mags, and assorted new guns to sell off, yet didn't contribute to the site by getting a dealer/supporting vendor account.

The only value I've gotten from the classifieds this year is the "Great deals" section, and hazmat items in reloading (In which I sold a few thousand primers for a very fair price, as well as traded for another type of primer).

I shall stand by, waiting for somebody to call me a socialist for not wanting to participate.

Yea. I just bought a Glock Gen 4 26 at Keith's for $545 New with three mags. They even had a 7 round mag for my XDs. I bought the XDs three weeks ago or so. It was $504 new in the box. I have always liked Keith's used gun prices. He sold me a M-4 Belelli used but never fired for a very fair price.

Went into a BiMart today and found primers in stock! Winchester LR and LP! So happy. $3.50 per 100. Then I saw the sign that said I could only have 1 tray (100 primers) per customer, per day. I don't want to pay some jackass $50 per 1000 in the classified, but I don't don't want to go to BiMart everyday for 10 days to get a brick of primers. Choices are sometimes just crappy.

I am sorry that my attempt at humor was not presented in a more readily understandable manner.

Gary
