Wait there is a provision that says YOU have to prove that you had them before the ban?

Afterall THEY will be acxusing you when it comes down to it so shouldnt the burden of proof be on the accuser?

They don't use HTTPS protocol. Communications are not encrypted (as they would be via HTTPS). This means your information goes back and forth in the clear and can be read by third parties.

EDIT: Ah, I may have spotted the problem here. If you have scripting disabled, which I do by default for security, they use HTTP instead of HTTPS. Probably can't order anything until you turn on scripting (don't know, didn't try) at which point they could, and hopefully do, switch back. An odd solution and definitely ill-advised.
Use a VPN, every little bit helps.

The only reason the government would want to take your guns is because they're about to do sometime that would make you want to shoot them.

This whole picture-with-timestamp thing is amazingly laughable. It is so trivially easy to alter the EXIF data of digital photos that I honestly can't believe anyone thought this new "law" was worthwhile in any sense.

So, if this grandfather clause actually remains in the bill, I don't think anyone has anything to worry about.

...which is sickening, that people are prepping for a ban...ugh.
I thought the magazine ban would have gone through last year. I contacted my house representative and senator and say no. I did same thing this year as well.

I bought 10 round magazines for my pistols and AR last year since I really thought it was going to pass. :(

I have spent my whole life avoiding being a felon. If I become one with the stroke of a pen...we will see, I cannot imagine just being OK with that.
People commit felonies all the time and don't even know it. Based on the strokes of pens. This is no different.

By buying those 10 round mags you jinxed the bills! Good work.

One couldn't possibly know how little I care if any of this passes or not, I will continue to operate and train the same...and my training biz will do the same as well, along with my ammo biz...without hesitation.

I will continue to travel to trainings with my usual load out...AR, 1,000 rounds+ and 15 or so 30 round magazines, and related gear.

Given that...in the meantime, I will let my state reps know where I stand on such a debacle.

I will not comply with anything more that is passed...ball is in your court Scooter.

It gets more complicated. For example, my 9 round 450 bushmaster magazine can hold 30 rounds of 5.56. A magazine is a box. The idea that you could ever regulate the size of a box and what might possibly be put in there is insanity.

My question is other than adding an additional charge onto a crime, are people in CA actually being charged and convicted of how big of a box they own?

First they came for the deplorables, but I did nothing because I'm not a deplorable. Then they came for the unvaxxed, but I did nothing because I'm boosted. Then they came for private property, but I did nothing because "eminent domain" and because I think socialism is cool. Then they came for free speech, but I did nothing because dissention is obviously hate-speech and needs to be silenced. Then they came for fair trials, but I did nothing because police and the justice system are obviously racist. Then they came for the church, but I did nothing because they are clearly anti-science. Then they came for the second amendment, but I did nothing because I hate guns and people should just call 911. Then they came for my neighbors because of the candidate they voted for, but I did nothing because I thought the guy was a jerk and didn't vote for him anyway. Then they came for my children in school, but I did nothing because "it takes a village" to raise a child, so I ceded my parental rights. Now they're coming for me, but I am doing nothing because I have no one to help me, no moral compass, no safe harbor, and no way to defend myself.

I recall when Connecticut went through their assault weapon ban and registration. The news outlets showed the long line of people waiting to get their assault weapons signed up.

I still wonder how many of those had Molon Labe or the like stickers on their vehicles. I would have loved to wander the parking lot.

I know a lot of people don't have the stomach for it, but the only way this will stop is for a large group to stand up and say NO. We don't care what you pass, it's all for naught.
