German Shepard..no surprise there. One of the smartest dogs on earth. My grand dog is a female GS, and a joy to be around. I have tracked a criminal and lost child with her. We found the child and established the track the criminal took.

While not quite as heroic as the dog in the OP ...
Sheba our old girl ( now passed ) has raised many a adopted cat.
The pics show her as a young mom and as an old girl.

Well had you been around a year ago we bread the Male GSD in my Avitar and got 8 beautiful pups
4 people that I can think of from this site including FB have one , Out of the 8 / 3 were all black and the rest were beautiful examples of the Asatian Wolf Dog.
