I would of thought he might be worth more? 400 mil is still a pretty good amount. The interest, and smart use of the stock market, with that kind of money? A person can do pretty good.

Simmons doesn't shy away from controversy, so his announcement doesn't surprise me in the least.

At some point, maybe more uber-rich celebs might realize that getting taxed into financial mediocrity is unreasonable - and stop gushing all their "virtuous" support for government-control progressive libs and socialist politicians promising unlimited free stuff for exponentially growing numbers of non-contributing voters.

Hell, maybe enough rich dems will move to allow the state to go at least purple, if not red. Isn't something like 65% of the state unpopulated? I remember reading a number that I found ridiculous. I'd take some inland Cali desert property if the politics and taxes weren't so terrible.

NY and CA were already losing high earning residents due to taxes before Covid. Covid substantially expanded working from home. Now many more are leaving as they are not required to be physically present in NY or CA to do their job. They are moving to states with lower taxes and lower cost of living.

Not likely. CA residents have been moving to retire in Oregon for over 20 years to take advantage of the lower cost of living and taxes. It raised housing prices and the cost of living. They turned the political landscape to liberal policies. Look at where OR is now, it is a toilet and rapidly going further down the sewage drain.

Now many are moving to Idaho. They can look at what happened to Oregon and see future of Idaho. Sad.
