Not really surprising to me really. I used to work with a retired master sergeant who was adamant about civilians not owning guns. And this guy was as "rightie" as anybody I've ever known.
My position was and is that we should eliminate the NFA completely including destructive devices, so the two of us had some interesting discussions.
You'll see some police and some military people who are sure their groups should be the only ones who aught to have weapons.
So it goes.

We can only hope that they are in the minority. If the military and the police all agree in unison that we shouldn't own guns, we're screwed. We need them to be standing with us, not against us, should the government ever decide to step over the constitution. Let's hope it never, ever comes to that.
