Yes, there are two different pin sizes manufactured by Colt over the years. If you have a gun manufactured before 2009, it may have large (.170 in) pins. All other Colts have small (.154 in) pins. The Colt website will have a directory I believe with serial number ranges to help ascertain, but I would just use a micrometer or fine ruler with MM measurements to check your pins from outside of the receiver. This Geiselle worked in a Colt 14.5' M4 that was made in '08.
