Sent to Nelson Custom Guns as 30-06 in Spring 1990. Returned from Nelson's as .308 Garand in June 1990 and sent back to customer in July 1990. (Tom Macke - Springfield Armory)

How is the scope attached? Is it screwed to the barrel through the upper hand guard? Hard to tell from the pic. I have had .308 garands before. But have only seen the aluminum upper hand guard scope mount.

Screwed to barrel. Work performed by Jim Lewis in Butte, MT. Accuracy of outfit as shown is sub-moa at 100yds. I've tagged a Montana mule deer at 200yds and pronghorn antelope at GPS'd 330 yds. One shot kills on both.
