I just got my first M1 Garand. It shoots fine, but there is only one small issue when loading the rifle. That is that the operating rod catch will not disengage after loading the clip into the rifle. Also, the clip will not latch into place. However, if I push the clip all the way in and hold it in place, then give the charging handle a tug back, the clip will latch in place and the operating rod catch will disengage, allowing the bolt to travel forward and feed the first round. No problems cycling and ejecting the rounds and the clip, but loading the rifle is more complicated than it needs to be, sometimes requiring two hands to fiddle with the action.

I've taken a look at all the parts, and they all seem to be in spec. There doesn't appear to be excessive wear on the parts, and nothing looks to be bent or deformed.
