Garage door openers

Anyone in the know on garage door openers? I fried one side of my 2 car garage. I've currently got a chain drive 1/2HP Craftsman. I'm stunned at how many options there are and the prices range from $150-$300. How much should one spend? DIY project? Should both openers be replaced or leave the one working one alone?

Any input would be much appreciated.

I replaced mine with a Chamberlain Whisper Drive Plus. Its the 3/4hp for a double door. They are very easy to install and setup/adjust and truly smooth/quiet. Got it from Home Depot.

I had mine installed by Sears 15 years ago and have helped others since then.
It is not hard to mimic how the old ones were, just follow the directions for connecting to power.
Like many have said " even a caveman can do it"
