Fury - the left just hates this movie

First off if you haven't seen the movie "Fury" go see it, it's that good!

I have noticed that those who hate this movie and call it propaganda seem to fall into two camps - European Marxists and self loathing American lefties. This post in IMDb brilliantly sums up the haters arguments and shows just how stupid these people really are.

Who says IMDB isn't educational and informative? Since the release of Fury a couple of weeks ago I have been on these boards gathering information shared by those around the globe. Here are a few things I've learned from IMDB users (most of whom are from Europe but refuse to state their specific countries).

The US had no impact on World War 2. Had we stayed home and plowed our fields the outcome would have been exactly the same.

99.9% of every German soldier killed in WW2 was by a Russian. The brutal psychopath Joseph Stalin and his uneducated drunk farmboy teenagers of the Russian Army would have wrapped up this war in days had we not interfered.

Showing the bravery and hardships of a single tank crew in WW2 is nothing but US propaganda, and if you enjoyed Fury you are a mindless American automaton. Nothing the US did in WW2 is to be celebrated or even discussed.

Every second of FURY is pure science fiction meant to make the Germans look incompetant and evil. Even though they actually LOST THE WAR we should show them being more skilled than our own soldiers.

The US and British air campaigns that lasted years, turned cities into rubble and stopped the majority of German manufacturing had no impact on the war whatsoever. Stalingrad is the only significant battle in WW2.

All air and sea battles fought in WW2 were insignificant. The Eastern front is the only part of WW2 worth discussing.

The Russians would have also cleaned up the Japanese in the Pacific and invaded Tokyo after they were finished in Europe had the US been patient.

America is full of dumb rednecks that know nothing of their own history.

Europe is filled with enlightened individuals that know the real truth about US history and are kind enough to share it nonstop on US based message boards.

Feel free to add below some more facts about Fury or World War 2 in general so us ignorant Americans can better understand the truth about US history that only enlightened marxists, socialists, leftists, the ignorant and communists know.

Once while in a suburb of Frankfurt in 2003 I was described as a Rich War Mongering American, By a Long haired guy standing on a street corner waiting for a bus with a $6000.00 Leica Camera and lens hanging around his neck while holding a Becks beer.

We were driving a rental 300 series BMW and had stopped to ask directions to our cheap under the bridge hotel. I drive a dump truck for a paving co and my wife is a part time bookkeeper for a grocery store. The trip was paid for by the sale of my dads house he built himself over 30 years after he passed away. And was the first time since I was 12 I had not been in school or working for more then 2 weeks.

First thought that came to my mind was WHERE WAS YOUR GRANDPA IN THE FALL OF 1939 you rich German Arse?

But I thought better of it and thanked the jerk for his directions on how to get across the bridge in such a way that we could find our tiny hotel that we could only afford because my wifes cousin baked the bread and rolls for the place in his tiny bakery the family has owned since before WWI.

Not once did he think to thank me for the Americans saving Leica from being packed off to Russia like Leitz was (the other great German camera company) Or that since Bremen ended up in the American Sector after WWII it was us Americans that helped to rebuild the Becks Brewery after the Brits bombed Bremen into rubble at the end of the war. In the process of destroying the Focke-Wulf aircraft plants. So he wouldn't have had that beer in his hand.

well saying the outcome would have been the same if the US had not joined is partly true but it would have certainly been a longer and bloodier war. not to mention we would not have risen to be such an influential and privileged nation. we also could not sit out when we had blood spilled on our soil. i do have a disdain for the use of nuclear weapons though. no historian can honestly tell you the Japanese emperor surrendered because of the nuclear bombs. they were simply out of resources and nearly out of young men. i feel for the crew of those 2 planes for feeling obligated to do such a thing though.

i dont recall hearing anything about the japanese executing anyone except for solders. although i do understand the innate risk in the carpet bombing of the day but our leaders of the time knew they were targeting residential areas with the atom bombs. when it comes to WW2 our guys only did to thing anyone can call immoral and they called them fat man and little boy.
