I am on the Wet-side
We have over 25 yrs on current gas furnace and A/C, so it's time to replace.

We got a quote from company that did summer maintenance for "Goodman" which is a brand I never heard of before.

Recommendation -
Heat Pump ok?
Should I stick with traditional furnace + ac
Any brands to avoid?

Our plan is to add solar in the near future.
Truthfully, the cost of electricity & gas has been reasonable.

I've had a York heat pump for 19 years. Preventative maintenance service every two years. When I asked the serviceman last week if it was time to replace it, he said it was running great and the only gain I'd realize was a small increase in efficiency. No major repairs over the years, just some contact points replaced and 8 oz. of refrigerant added.

Replaced ours 4 years ago with a Goodman 4 ton and it's been working perfectly. My old neighbor owns an HVAC company and he recommended it and did the install for me.
