In 1986, I bought an old Remington Model 760 slide action rifle in .35 Remington. I live in Wash now but bought this rifle in another state. I have a Remington pump rifle in .30-06, kinda like the design. Today, I was in a pawn shop and they had a Model 760 in .35 Rem., I liked it and bought it. It looks just like the one I owned 30 years ago. Maybe a little better in condition. I thought the serial number looked familiar but I knew it wasn't the same rifle because the first one had a distinguishing mark on the slide tube. Just a little while ago, looked at the serial number of the first rifle, XXX91. The serial number on the rifle I bought today is XXX92. They were consecutive serial numbers. Both were made in 1952. I've never had this happen before.
