"Wet Confetti" I don't know what it is about that, but I'm laughing, with tears! :s0155:
The second call was even worse.

"Thank you for calling Auto-Flush Toilets. Please hold."
"Is that a joke?"
"I'm sorry. How may I help you?"
"My Auto-Flush 2 has a virus!"
"I'm sorry to hear that, sir. Did you try Lysol?"
"No, a computer virus!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, sir. IBM?"
"Excuse me?"
"IBM?"
"I'm very happy for you. I wish I could BM, too, but my Auto-Flush 2 has a virus!"
"I understand that sir, but what kind? IBM?"
"What?"
"IBM. IBM!"
"Is this a joke?"
"What?"
"Never mind. I'll use the cat box." <click>

Like when a company pays new employees more than the faithful current employees ...........
Last year when I retired after 41 years and was (arguably) outstanding in my field (yeah I see it...) I was training kids with no clue who were making about a dollar less than I was. That's one of the reasons I chose to retire...

You know the great thing about banging your head against the wall?
It feels so good when you stop.

. And let me tell you, most of the newer people have no idea of what a "Work Ethic" is!
The last few years less than 1 in 4 new hires lasted 6 months. Part of the reason was corporate centralized recruiting and hiring. I could have weeded out most of those failures with a 5 minute interview up front...

But the 3 washouts were either:
1. Poor work ethic- we finally had to let them go because coming to work wasnt a high priority for them.
2. Unable to learn. Same stupid questions day after day and botched work output.
3. They simply quit because it was a problem for them to train, learn, and show up for work. Usually ghosted the job too, no notice.

To be fair, we had quite a few young people who were smart, eager, dedicated and a joy to mentor.
