Well, I'm Pretty sure it's going to rain in 3 minutes......Dave is against the use of Debit cards.

Some people just can't keep from having a monthly balance on their CC. Those are usually the ones who don't have CC'ds, cuz they wana' BUY!!....BUY!!!!...BUY!!!

I'm not saying that's YOU, but if I have the option of a credit card or a Debit card, there is an extremely small, unbelievably slight, minute' chance I would choose a Debit card.

BTDT on the bank fraud BS - I've had my account compromised a handful of times. Once someone bought pizza at a Papa Murphy's in Boise, I even called the store and asked how they pulled that off without the card present. Once someone went on a plus-size lingerie online buying binge. The last time was 2 christmas seasons ago - someone tried buying a pass to an adult-oriented site. I got my cash back within a day each time - I can't praise Chase' fraud department enough they've always been easy to deal with. Every time I think about changing banks or going to a local credit union - I ask myself if these places have better or worse fraud departments and so far, I've stuck with Chase. The last time my account got hacked - the porn spree - they shut my debit card off immediately and didn't even charge my account for the porn-purchasers drek (who buys porn anyway when it's free with a 10 second google search?...) - would've been nice if they'd called me to let me know, instead of finding out the hard way when I tried buying something at the store and my card didn't work. But I had a new temp card that day, they change my bank account numbers every time, and I've never lost a penny.

Before you hurry up an close an account after finding out you've been hacked, make sure you double check that there aren't any outstanding checks that haven't cleared the bank.

I feel your pain.

Same thing happened to me.

I was trying to buy some porn, my wife caught me, so I HAD TO claim CC fraud.

A few months later, I went into a porn shop, and they denied my card!
