But, every time someone asks a legal question you close the thread. For example, you wrote this message on the thread where a person asked how to go about gifting a pistol to a fiancee: "Closing the thread. Although an excellent question, NWF is not a legal forum, and you may get misleading advice."

It is obvious to me that you [forum moderators] can't even figure out why this forum exists as you violate your own rules by closing threads every time someone uses this forum for its stated purpose!

I'll try to make this easy. Our jobs are to look after the best interest of this site and its owner. As time goes things change and our job gets more and more impossible to do. Some of it due to the political climate some of due to just how people react when we do what we do. I know that we can all come to the consensus that we love this site and that we don't want it to go anywhere so there is that.

The reason we shut down those questions is because it puts a liability on this site when and if someone gives another someone bad or illegal advice. Hope you understand. @Moderators please feel free to add if needed.

Do you acknowledge that the legal questions being shut down by moderators are consistent with the stated purpose of the legal forum? If so, why do you even have a legal forum?

The Legal section of the subform in question is to discuss NON PERSONAL matters, such and local, county, State, Fed and NOT personal issues where any advice offered here could be used incorrectly, misunderstood, or twisted for ill gotten gain, thus any of it puts the site owner at risk for liability! THAT is why we close threads on this!
The other issue that comes up is when some one asks a question that really rides the line on NFA/ATF issues and items and could be in violation, we lock those down to both protect the site and the person posting!

When in need of Personal legal advice, it's always best to consult with an attorney, rather then an open forum.
IF there are questions, please contact any staff member and we will do our level best to answer! However, legal questions will get the standard reply, Contact a Lawyer!
