Child bubblegum, eh? These word filters are ridiculous.

Yes, we have to be protected from bad, evil words much like people need to be protected from bad evil black rifles.... Same concept, except this is not a public arena, but a private one that someone lets us use in a public manner....therefore, their house, their rules... But sometimes, they get silly. If I am on a chicken forum, I can't use the ancient and accepted term for a male member of that species....but I am running on and on....

As to him having his rights restored....why not? If he has served his sentence, completed the requirements of the court, shouldn't he have his rights restored? And shouldn't every other ex-con who turns themselves around? (I'm aware that a great number DON'T, but some do, and need to be complimented and welcomed back).

if they are truly healed, and repentful of the wrong doing, I would consider it, however how many times does it become a repeat offense... Restore rights after a first offense... sure, repeat offenders NOPE.... that's my $0.02

Back to the same simple answer to the problem - no need to jack around with someones rights - punish them for their crime. Sometimes a spell of cooling your heels to think about things will do the trick, sometimes the crime merits an express ticket to the afterlife. These are hard decisions, sure, that's why we used to hold judges in such high esteem. The modern legal system we now live under is corruption on steroids.

At least he got charged and was fired. If you are a Federal Prosecutor/Assistant United States Attorney neither will happen.

"Iowa Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley sent a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder Thursday requesting an explanation as to why the Justice Department declined to file charges against a federal prosecutor with child pornography found on his work computer.

The finding against the Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) was made by the Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG).

According to the Inspector General’s report, the AUSA admitted to spending a significant amount of time each day viewing porn at work.

“The OIG conducted an investigation concerning allegations that an AUSA was using his government computer to view inappropriate material on his government computer,” the Grassley letter quoted from the OIG report. “The investigation determined that the AUSA routinely viewed adult content during official duty hours, and that there was at least one image of child pornography recovered on the AUSA’s government computer. The AUSA acknowledged that he had spent a significant amount of time each day viewing pornography.”

Grassley further questioned why the department kept employing the individual for at least two months following the report; what types of cases this AUSA prosecuted; the status of the individual’s pension; and what types of Internet filters the Department now uses.

Last year 33 employees at the Securities and Exchange Commission were found to have viewed pornography on the taxpayer’s dime without receiving harsh discipline."

The issue I have with that kind of argument is that once all public land is owned by corporations gun rights will easily be denied based on the whole "private ownership" issue.
