How does a previously convicted criminal pass an airside approval security check??!!

When this story first hit last year that was the first thing that came to my mind. IIRC the excuse they were using was he was not an employee of the airline or airport. He was part of some sub contract service. Hey just as with gun laws none of this has to make any damn sense at all. After all the bottom line here is we just need more gun laws to fix this.

So he gets released today and probation and the state gives him 50,000.00
