Ah so these are the Russian Hell Hounds that I've read of. Badazz wolf carnage.

Yes and what's also interesting is those dogs wear spiked collars to keep the wolves from biting their necks.

There are quite a few videos of those dogs in action on YouTube. Spent an evening in awe of their viciousness.

I've seen quite a few of these when I lived in the former Eastern Bloc. I recall customs/immigration types at airports and other ports of entry walking around with them. They must have been phased out; last year I travelled to Russia and the customs section was being run by two young women in miniskirts. Gotta say I prefer the new Russia to the old one.
