Kind of a weird site, but here's a good list of staple foods that will essentially never go bad:

    1) Sugar
    2) Vanilla Extract
    3) Rice
    4) Corn Starch
    5) Honey
    6) Hard Liquor
    7) Salt
    8) Corn Syrup
    9) Maple Syrup
    10) Distilled White Vinegar

I'm surprised they didn't include wheat on this list, but no list is complete. It's also worth noting that some of these items depend on being stored properly.

    "rice" meaning white rice.
Brown rice is much harder to keep - as is wheat - because of the oils, which go rancid in air. The same is true with all whole grains, IIRC.

I got one of them covered.....probably need to reassess my cupboards:-0 Thank you for the list. As an aside, I've heard that you can buy larger qtys of honey (and probably most of this list) at the LDS stores. I still need to go there and see what they have, but at least I already have the one thing I KNOW for a fact they don't sell stocked.
