I checked my firing pin and it was fine, the problem I have is it likes to spit brass right back in my face. It only has 200 rounds through it.

My 17 and 23 each have over 5000 rounds and they're both fine.

Sounds like cops weaseling for more money.

Wonder if they're using reloaded practice ammo and it's causing the problem?

That's pretty common with late 3rd gen and early 4th gen models. Glock Customer Service can probably help resolve your issue.

My 20 did that for one mag around the 100 round mark. Haven't seen it since then. If it keeps doing it, contact customer service.
