I bought this bayonet (on Ebay) in 2006 from a guy who lives in Luxembourg very close to Bastogne, Belgium where the 101st Airborne Div. was under siege during the Battle of the Bulge. He found it in a barn. You can see where the paint was worn off of the back side of the scabbard from rubbing on the soldier's gear. He also scratched his initials - "AK" - into the scabbard.

I exchanged emails with the seller and he showed me his incredible collection of World War II items. He essentially had a private museum in his house.

Many years later, in 2016, I went to Europe and met up with the guy. He showed us around Bastogne. Unfortunately, he had gotten divorced and had been forced to sell off his collection.

Some of my other bayonets. I haven't bothered taking pictures of the British, Japanese, and Russian ones.

Come to think of it, nothing in the current line up with a bayonet. The last one I recall was a 1943 vintage La Coruña Mauser in 7.92㎜ that I traded off when acquiring a shotgun almost 20 years ago.
