If you had to sit down and decide what five guns every true gun lover should have in their collection what would they be? For me it would be...

    Walther PPK or PPK/S

    Colt Combat Commander

    Beretta 92

    PP-

I think you need to add a Detonics in there somewhere or maybe add one to your collection.

I am too lazy at the moment to go pull up pictures right now (and they aren't as nice as PP's pics), but this is my list:

    1) "True" 1911 - spur hammer, flat MSH, long trigger. 5" or commander length, doesn't matter. But just make sure it's American made and quality. No Asian or Brazilian copies - doesn't have to say "Colt" - but make sure it's quality and semi-true to the original design.

    2) any S&W hand ejector pre 1994 - M&P, 27, 19, doesn't matter. Fixed sight or adustable. Just no infernal lock and squishy goodyear grips. Just steel and wood like God and Dan Wesson made them.

    3) Any quality 12 ga. o/u. I don't care if it's a Ruger, Beretta, or other. Just a nice o/u in 28" or so - whatever fits you so that it swings like butter and fits well. If so, it will shoot where you look without thinking about it. Like butta...

    4) Some variant of a top-eject, pre-safety 20" Winchester 94 in 30-30 or .32 Winchester.

    5) There is no spoon/there is no #5.

Those four will do anything you want and represent the finest examples of firearms design.

I think that a 1903 Springfield or SMLE would complete that list quite nicely.

    Colt 1911 .45 ACP
    Reminton 870 12 ga
    Ruger 10/22 of some type
    Remington 700 or Savage 110 .308 HB
    Ruger SP101 .357

The only ones I currently lack are the .308 bolt gun (have a Win 70 30-06) and the Rem 870 (have an Ithaca 37).

And BTW Playboy, that PPK/S is sure Purty!

I personally already have two Detonics pistols. I just think they are a bit too much of a niche gun to tell others they should have one. :)

OK PP I have to ask.............Here is the scenario, guns are partially banned you can have only 1 1911 and you must keep only this one 1911 for the rest of your life, which 1911 do you choose?

Geez, that is a hard question. I am betting I would keep my favorite 1911 which is my all steel Colt Commander. Small enough to carry but big enough to be as accurate and reliable as possible. I would add better sights to it though. :)

Yup...why? You going to come and confiscate my other 1911's? I do not think your new role as a monitor actually gives you that power...at least I hope not. :D

Well I was originally going to just post the word Wrong! just to be consistent! :p But if you are offering to let me confiscate any of your guns without a warrant I'd be willing to dispose of them.

    Guns everyone should own?

    1) S&W, Ruger, Colt, etc. 4" barreled adjustable sighted 357 revolver. ( my favorite is a S&W 66)
    2) Good bolt action in 30-06 or .308 with quality 3x9 scope (make mine a mauser)
    3) Winchester 94 or Marlin in 30-30
    4) Pump shotgun with 28" and 18" barrels (Rem 870, Moss 500, It37, etc)
    5) good quality .22lr rifle (too many choices, mine are Win.9422, 10/22's, Marlin 25N with a 2x7)
