This is a very presentable Colt SAA, chambered in .45 Long Colt, 7” Barrel and real Mother Of Pearl Grips. Barrel is decent with good rifling but with minor pitting about two-thirds down the barrel from the muzzle. The Colt locks up good and tight and there no signs of any lead shaving. OK, now for the bad news: According to the Colt Archivist, while this was made in 1899 in .45 Long Colt, it was originally produced in blue with a 4 5/8 barrel. Also, the SS hammer is from a later generation Colt. This 'is' a smokeless powder model. The grips look very good but have a couple of small chips on the bottom and a light gouge in the left grip. The front of the cylinder flutes are showing some flaking off of the nickel. The Colt locks up tight and there is no evidence of timing issues. This is just a very presentable Colt that would be great for those Cowboy Shoots or as a basic Bar-B-Q sidearm. If correct this Colt would be in the $15K price rang. As is, the asking price is $1,950 OBO. If you have ‘any’ questions please PM me.

No, I spoke to the Archivest and due to the changes made in the SAA she suggested that a letter would serve no purpose. Did verify the 1899 date of producation though. Also, In the first 1,000 made for smokeless powder. Thanx ......

Just received permission to lower the price for the SAA, and Holster to $1,550 (Plus Priority/Insured Shipping) ... C&R Eligible!
