Like anybody with an interest in shooting and those who take part in it, I'm on a lot of fora, including firearmstalk.com.

However, this morning I'm stymied in my attempt to get onto the site -

THIS is all I get.......................

Help improve Chrome security by sending URLs of some pages that you visit, limited system information and some page content to Google. Privacy Policy

That means they didn't get a secure http certificate which is becoming the new standard.

They'll fix it pretty quick and then you'll notice it becomes https://www.firearmstalk.com

Most sites took care of this. Not all. I haven't on my site but I don't ask for any user info.

I'd give it a couple days. They'll fix it.

Yup, Firefox wouldn't even let me connect. Gave me "Security Warning!!!" ...

It's a good thing in the long run. You have to imagine though that the internet is vast and some pages are zombies with no one working on them even if they're still up and running. We're better off using secure http (https) this is just using panicked/concerned end users to generate pressure on web site owners.

It does cost more to get a valid cert but it's the right thing to do

Thank you OP for asking the question. I wanted to look at some stuff on a New York gun forum about M14/M1A barrel attachment issues. I tried to get into their site and the same message popped up. Now I know why.
