A bit more than a few purchases ago, I started detail stripping every gun. They come from the factory dirty and covered in oil or grease to preserve it.

Every part gets cleaned and inspected, lubed back up proper, and assembled.

I looked at 2 28 GA. shotguns at a local shop last September. Both of them had absolutely filthy barrels, makes wonder what powder they use for testing in Italy because they were ditier than my trapgun after a registered shoot (I may be exaggerating, but not by much). The more expensive of the 2 had rust on the bore. I didn't buy either.
