Think about the feds having a 11% cut of all the ammo sold in the US.
That's why we as shooters are the biggest source of funding for wild life management.
Shooters make the US a better place.

As far as I know the only extra tax on ammo and guns in Washington are in King county.
Seattle city limits.
Of course there is the fed wildlife tax on any thing .that we don't even notice anymore.
I order ammo online every week and never see a extra tax

David Haug wants a tax to pay for him going to Harvard.
Lol Harvard is wrong for letting him in.
I feel sorry for the kids that worked there A$$ off to get in to that School.
And now they let him in.BLESS HIS HART

Pitman Robertson act, but no one can tell you where the money went.

Can you explain this statement further or do you truly believe that wildlife agencies, hunter education, ranges, etc, etc, just grow money on trees?

30 seconds on Goggle would give you a long list of Pittman Robertson funded projects and activities.

finding things they say they used it for is one thing, how much they collected over all these years
and where it ended up is another.

10% on pistols, 11% on rifles. That is sales price to the wholesaler and that is only by licensed 07 manufacturers. . Been that way for a hundred years. The ATF doesnt administer it . The dept of treasury does. No federal tax on parts.

FWIW Washington sales tax is by county. 7.9% here.

So special taxes on a Civil Right are constitutional!
If that is correct the Poll Taxes are legit as well as special or differential taxes on raw newsprint and ink don't burden a "free press!"

"Differential taxation* of the press, then, places such a burden on the interests protected by the First Amendment that we cannot countenance such treatment unless the State asserts a counterbalancing interest of compelling importance that it cannot achieve without differential taxation."

*A special tax on a specific good, not a general tax on all goods.

When the National Firearms Act and the Pittman Robertson Act were passed in the 1930's, the Second Amendment was not considered an individual or civil right by the courts.

Even if a special tax on firearms and ammunition benefits hunters and the shooting sports, it sets the stage for special taxes designed restrict Second Amendment rights.

Regular general taxes, like sales taxes, would be constitutional because these would not single out a constitutionally protected venue.
