Quite a few new changes today in preparation to our migration to the new version of Northwest Firearms! If you pay attention to our announcements you probably know that we removed the firearm-specific subforums back in August because they weren't being used much, they were taking up space on the front page, and they increased our server load. Today we're bringing them back, and with a brand new feature to encourage members to actually use them :D

The firearm-specific sections which have subforums (Handgun Discussion, Rifle Discussion, etc.) will now display threads posted in their subforums in the parent forum. To explain I'll post a couple photos :)

When you click the Post New Thread button a box will pop up asking where you'd like to post it.

If the thread you're creating is specific to Semi-Automatic Pistols or Revolvers, choose the appropriate sub-forum. If it's a more general thread which applies to neither or both, leave the parent category selected.

Say you've selected Revolvers, great, your thread is now posted in the revolvers subforum. But wait! Go back to the Handgun Discussion section and you'll see it there too! :s0115:

You can differentiate between threads posted in Handgun Discussion and threads posted in a subforum by looking under the thread title.

Our hope is that by implementing this change it'll not only encourage members to use the appropriate sections, it'll also make sure threads posted in subforums get seen as much as threads in the general sections.

Questions, comments, or feedback are welcome in this thread :s0155:
