I like that idea as well. However I believe most firearms these days are sold for self protection so I'm thinking that offering a midnight bus tour of get downtown Portland might not sell as well. 🤪

Another potential source of revenue for FFLs may be storage of firearms. If the predictions of FFL shops closing down come true, these shops may need to transfer other peoples firearms to FFL shops that remain open.

There may be other reasons for storage of firearms.

With a gun owner being unable to receive their property back without a permit... I dunno how lucrative a new firearm storage service with an FFL would be. My guess.... not in the least.🤷‍♂️

If it is already stuck at an FFL that is closing down then the need may still exist. The permits to purchase will be available at some point, probably sooner than many believe.

If it's already unretreivable at an FFL, then yeah. No choice.... so.... if an FFL wants to start shafting gun owners with daily storage fees to make a buck off the unfortunate situation, that would create more revenue for them. Sure!

The best case for the FFL... the owner doesn't want to keep paying endlessly accruing storage fees, decides to cut their losses and accept pennies on the dollar for the FFL to just puchase it from them... that would rake in some nice profits too.

Can't you come up with any new revenue ideas for FFL's that ISN'T dependent on screwing over gun owners and practically stealing their firearms for profit???:s0140:

You are really bringing on the sunshine today. Measure 114 is going to raise many obstacles for FFLs. Those who choose to navigate through them will survive. Those who don't, won't.

arakboss, I'd like to remind you that you are not an FFL holder so speculating as how real FFL holders might run their business is for them to decide, not you. You jump thru the hoops and get the license and then you can say what you'd do in any given situation, only then will your words hold water. Speculating what others could or might do is mental masturbation on your part and not needed to be made public.

Consignment sales is another opportunity for FFLs. Some FFLs are already doing consignment sales but many are not. Sellers who do not want to deal with meeting others or dealing with out of state sales can use consignment services to sell their firearms. Sunset Firearms in Wilsonville only charges 10% of the selling price plus the $10 background check for this service. Others charge more.

It's not you, it's me and it's for your benefit.

Undoubtedly! People fall for auto and payday loans all the time. The question really becomes, is it a sound long term business plan? For me, if I knew TP was engaging in that type of activity... I can guarantee... I would openly make it known what they are doinge, discourage folks from shopping there and not one hot red cent will find it's way from my wallet to theirs.

Couldn't agree more. I'm all for supporting the FFL who have been doing right by the customers, but bubblegum like that is a no-go for me. NW Armory, Hummel, Tigard Pawn, and The Gun Room certainly won't be missed by me if they go under.
