    Find local FFL.

Make sure he is willing to receive firearms from private individual (it is legal but some FFL's choose not to).

Find out FFL's fee. Averages about $30.

Contact seller and find out shipping costs.

Have FFL send a copy to the sender.

you'll have to pay a roughly %10 use tax in WA state. It may be called something else but you have to pay it.

Half the FFL's I have talked to don't understand the shipping laws. An individual can mail a long gun to a FFL in another state. Handguns have to ship FFL to FFL. FFL's can mail a handgun in a flat rate box, but they have to have a form on file at their local PO. Some FFL's think all handguns have to go next day air and it ain't so. It's simple, the government made it so. Ken

    That is FALSE.

ANYONE can ship ANY firearm to an FFL. You just have to use the proper carrier.

Long guns can be shipped or mailed by anyone.

Handguns can not be mailed per LAW. Both Fedex and UPS require by their RULES (not law) that they are shipped overnight.

    http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/unlicensed-persons.html questions 7 and 8.

US Mail: Licensed persons can ship a rifle, shotguns, or handguns by US Mail. In fact, we suggest that you use the USPS as it is now the most cost-effective way to ship a handgun. To ship a rifle or shotgun, you need only inform the Post Office that the package contains a firearm. A licensed manufacturer, dealer, or importer can ship a handgun via the US Post Office if the licensed dealer fills out a
