Guv Inslee and his Gestapo Ferguson from WA State I believe have their agents in crime…yes they are the criminals not constitutionalists…coming after good people on these forums.
If you are selling a firearm please double check the persons posts, background and how new their account is if they are contacting you to purchase. I was offered to purchase 3 times today and once yesterday. In every situation the account was brand new or very little history like 2 weeks. One account had been there since October and had zero I mean zero activity. You would have to be involved in the dialogue of how these guys made me feel paranoid.
Bottom line is if you have high capacity magazines and live in WA probably should not only inform people that it's a non starter but don't post your semi auto pistol with the high capacity mags in the ad.
Call me paranoid and I agree … I am older and paranoid that WA State is a cesspool of Socialism. Am I cool with taking just the lower frame only into the FFL removing the slide and handing that slide and high cap mags over to the would be buyer/cop? Uh not this guy. Have been told by these would be purchasers that many do. May have blown 2 sales on very nice pistols at really good prices today but just not worth the risk. I understand the same day delivery scheme so you don't have to make a trip back to the FFL and pay the FJB gas prices but I had to when I was the original purchaser so personally yes I understand but no don't feel bad you have to go back to pick up the firearm.

If there are law enforcement professionals that will chime in and school not only me and the forum members on your whether its your right to lie when setting people up that would be an interesting conversation. F J Inslee and all democrats in this state that keep repeating the same mistake's…electing socialists. There are a lot of good people here but now the "Seller Beware" mode is critical. The Tyrants want feathers in their cap. Your freedom can't be bought.
I am the person that Mike thinks is a cop and I have the messages to prove it.

Dude. What did I have to gain by luring you into a legal transfer??? I told you I didn't want your damn mags.

So that wasn't even a legit offer to sell? What a bubblegumty thing to do. You aren't catching informants you're just getting peoples hopes up and wasting their time.

It's legal to transfer just the lower numbnutz. That way you can take possession same day. There is nothing illegal about it. It's just like buying an AR lower. You would hold the upper until the 4473 came back. The mags have nothing to do with it.

The law sucks but I'm happy to simply say no to anyone who appears to be ignorant of it. I might even be amused by 'em.

Maybe I misread your meaning, but I won't be giving any 10+ mags to anyone in this state, nor taking any. I hope you're not advocating that.

If I was going to buy a pistol private party, regardless of magazines included or not, I'd proposition the owner to sell me the slide and frame separate. Slide is not a controlled item, pointless therefore to go through the FFL and a waste of everyone's time. Frame can go through the FFL and literally be done in about 15 minutes if the FFL knows what they are doing.

It's about the only way I'm interested in buying pistols right now.

Report them to your local sheriff.
Nah would feel bad if they were just regular guys trying score a cool firearm. Best to just say no and move on. Simply trying to bring awareness to people that it can happen and sure felt conspicuous today.
Illegal to try and acquire high cap mags etc in this state yes it is but should it be no. Problem is the wrong people end up in jail over a dumb law that supports political agendas and appeasement of snowflakes. Honestly don't for a nanosecond believe that the real narcs are not already at work on these forums. People call it paranoid, I call it street smart.

Well said.
The entire mag ban is a waste of peoples time imo. Unfortunately its law in WA State.
To your point on slide separation if you are comfortable with that I get it do it.
Not comfortable myself doing that because I am not sure that it's the same as building a Glockenstein or AR for that matter. I have built several btw. Is this a gray area or black and white?

Not sure what is remotely problematic about it. I just bought a glock frame off of gunbroker, later I'll put a slide on it.

If a guy has a firearm to sell, again, only the regulated part has to go through the FFL.

If you have other guns that you decide to sell, so long as the regulated part goes through the FFL, it's irrelevant what you do with the rest of it, legally speaking.

Who wants to TIG weld an AR 30 rounder into a non-mag and sell it? $$$ to settle with the state. Or 3D print solid mags, wrap them up in G.I. vapor barrier paper and sell them? My luck the G-men already have a "burn" statute to prosecute for selling fake mags.

Let me preface by saying that I'm not a lawyer but I do believe … The above statement is true. For example, if it was an AR, only the lower would need to go through the FFL. The upper could be handed to the buyer at any point. The lower could even be stripped and all part except the stripped lower could be given to the buyer legally before BGC paperwork started.

However, the buyer wanted OP to give the buyer a 10+ round mag, which in WA is illegal. The illegal mag would be the trouble.

I wonder if you just "accidentally" dropped your 10+ magazines on the ground not noticing and walked away. It's not illegal to lose 10+ mags, is it? What about finding 10+ mags in a parking lot outside an FFL? Hmm.

I used to live in CA so I understand how ridiculous and infuriating these laws are. Luckily I don't live in WA. Unfortunately, I do live in in Portland. 🤦🏻‍♂️
