Not exactly a movie but "Saving Private Ryan" is my favorite.

I use to like Saving Private Ryan a lot but the Band of Brothers miniseries IMO blew it away. Some of the episodes were absolutely action packed. The Pacific had some good battle scenes, I like it when the Marines are assembling on their landing craft to invade the island of Peleliu.

This is a great firefight scene from The Pacific. Make sure you blow up the picture and turn your sound up.
