Don't forget "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra"

My boy and I were watching this and literally rolling on the floor gasping, while my wife (who has a different sense of humor) was demanding what we thought was so funny.

Oh man! I forgot!
Any movie with the special effects done by Ray Harryhausen (sp)!

He was the master of stop motion photography! Movies like:
"The 7th Voyage of Sinbad"
"The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms"
"The Black Scorpion"
And, many, many more!:D

OK Bud, fire up some popcorn, start melting some butter ... you named my favorite stuff. Used to buy Famous Monsters of Movieland back in the early sixties, when I wasn't watching Combat!/Demension 8 (KGW) movies Sat afternoons/Zone-Limits, etc.
Saw 7th Voyage at the Oriental Theater, on Grand Ave. one of my most favorite movies of all time.

Anyway,
I Was A Teenage Werewolf/Frankenstein etc. (Michael Landon's best in Werewolf)
Driller Killer
Basket Case
Psycho/Birds
Quartermass stuff
Exorcist
Equinox (early 70's)

don't get me started....

Holy crap, you've got most of em right there.

Any of the original Romero films.
Children of the Corn.
The Omen.
John Carpenter`s remake of The Thing.

Try the documentary "Nightmares in Red, White and Blue". It`s on netflix, about the history of the American horror film. On Hulu I rather enjoyed "The Jeffrey Dahmer Files" and "Jonestown: Paradise Lost". I tend to watch more documentaries if I`m looking to actually spook myself, horror films just don`t do it anymore. What gets me spooked is what actually happens, like in the two examples.

I tried to think of some of the more esoteric movies. Or the ones that appealed to me the most. However, I could have put a lot more on the list... leaving room for others ;)

"Lifeforce" is one of my all time favs... for some odd reason it makes me think of one of Madonna's outfits. o_O

I too enjoyed Equinox. Nice addition to the list.

Anyone remember the name of the Brit movie where the guy sees visions of the swarms of Martians on Mars? Was that one of the Quatermass movies?

Edit: Ah yes, Quatermass and the Pit... U.S. title = Five Million Years to Earth.
