This is an underappreciated classic.

The 39 and Sig P225 are awesome single-stack nines that don't get much limelight anymore.
I've got the Sig P-6 West German Police turn in. The P-225 is the civilian model of the same gun. It's very accurate and easy to shoot being an all steel gun. I have extra P-225 magazines bought from Sig that work as they are supposed to and Houge checkered Walnut grips for the 225 on it as well. My wife took my Springfield SA-35 so it now hers and her favorite so that might be one to look at as well. My favorite is my CZ Shadow II SAO. Watch some U-tube videos of people shooting it and you'll see why.

For some reason, I thought the P6 was a heel mag release. I'm probably thinking about the older P220 though.

If I were to go crazy on the cash I'd go for a Dan Wesson DWX.
That's probably a great gun, but a little "flashy" for my tastes. I'm interested in the Kimber KD9S, but haven't even handled one yet.

My 469 S&W .

Another favorite...
The Smith and Wesson Model 39.
The first generation or two of the S&W semis really had my interest. I think they are great guns. You don't see them for sale often which must mean that the ones who bought 'em, kept 'em.

Never really been a fan of H&K pistols , other than the P7 .
Shot one once a long time ago...liked it...was a neat design and shot well for me.

I sold my vp9 because it was a hunk of volksgarbage.
Man, I couldnt be more opposite LOL! Have 3 VP9s (one is my primary bedside gun), 3 USPs, including a compact and a OD Green Tactical, an SP5 and SP5K, and a Mark 23. And by far my favorite HK out of my collection- Langdon Tactical P30, with their optics cut, Grey Guns trigger, and Langdons trigger job. Man that is a SHWEEET gun.

My VP9 probably gets the most suppressor trigger time out of my striker fired guns. The trigger was rough when I first got it, but has smoothed out very nicely. For me, the 'Batman' grip fits perfectly, and when I raise the gun up, the sights perfectly align every time, no need to adjust- just point and shoot!

For me...its more of a styling and material thing.
Don't like the looks of most of 'em...and not a fan of polymer.

That said...
One of the many neat things about firearms is the many variations they come in.
Enjoy what you like....try what you haven't shot before...you might find a new favorite.

I've had a bunch of wonder 9's and I've been told I need an H&K having never owned one. When I look at them to maybe buy something else is more attractive either by price or looks catches my eye and I haven't pulled the trigger to get one. Honestly having the CZ Shadow II has made all other 9mm's less attractive to me.

H&K stands for hype and kompromise

I always thought the USP line was ahead of it's time with all the variants it could be configured to.
Rooftop Defense did a limited run of super rare OD Green USPs. There have only been a very small number of USPs produced by HK, and prior to this, HK had never done a OD Green frame 9mm. Rooftop was able to do a special order of 250 USP9s, and 500 USP9Tacticals. As of right now, there are only 19 of the USP9Tacticals left, so will probably sell out pretty shortly. I ended up buying both, as a OD green USP was a dream gun for me! ;-) https://www.rooftopdefense.com/prod...tical-v3-4-86-pistol-od-green-frame-1-of-500/. Here it is with my SilecerCo Spectre 9 suppressor:
