My favorite 9mm handgun? Somebody else's!

I incorrectly stated to my grandson recently that I'd never owned a 9mm. Well, I had a Kahr compact of some kind several years ago that was a 9mm. I've just always gravitated to the 45 ACP or revolvers.
But the price of 9mm ammo for plinkin is very attractive and I've been giving thought to buying a 9mm "something", just not plastic. I will find it interesting to see what NWFA says. I'm sure it will be entertaining, if nothing else.

Langdon Beretta 92. If I had a SIG 226, I'm sure it would be a close tie.
Couple days late to the party, so was going to sit down and read through the five pages of responses, to then recommend the Langdon Beretta 92, but then three responses in and I see it already recommended! I have A LOT of 9mm pistols, and BY FAR my favorite is a full boat Landon Tactical 92 Elite. The DA/SA trigger is just insane, and with their NP3 coating throughout, everything is just so silky smooth . . .

And this is coming from a guy that has multiple high end guns - my second favorite would be my Staccato XC, which is over double price of the Langdon. I also would take the LTT Beretta over my Wilson Combat EDC-X9, which also cost about double.

So my fav list of 9mm pistols in order:
Langdon Beretta 92
Staccato XC
Wilson Combat EDCX9
Sig P226 Legion (or P229 Legion)
HK USP Tactical
CZ Shadow 2, and the Shadow 2 Compact
Staccato P
Langdon HKP30
Browning Hi Power

For more affordable options, I would recommend:
Springfield Echelon ( yeah it actually is surprisingly good!)
HK VP9
Glock 19XMOS Threaded
S&W M&P2.0 Metal (surprisingly good!)
Beretta M9A4
FN 509
P365 Legion
P320 AXG Legion

(Did I mention I like 9mm pistols? ;-) FYI that most of these I have threaded barrels on them, so all that can be are run with suppressors ;-) )

Rock Island make a fine 1911 full size 9mm, I have one
very accurate and a fine trigger and sights

While I like my Glock 9mm's (original Glock 19 and Model 48), I have to say my favorite is my CZ P-09. Polymer frame is lighter than the SP-01 Tactical I had (that my son shoots better than I did) and back when I bought it, standard capacity magazines were still permitted in the Peoples Republic of Washington. I even grabbed a factory 21 round to back up the standard 19 rounders. I prefer the hammer to the striker, especially when using imported primers like Servicio/Aventuras. And, I just shoot it better than other 9's I have tried. Maybe someday we can move to a free state and I can acquire a new CZ P-09 Nocturne-C to add to the Glock 19 and 48 for a compact polymer frame 15 round hammer fired carry pistol.

To be honest I hadn't seen a Lorcin until you just asked that. I immediately looked it up. Interesting, definitely budget friendly

It's highly recommended by most aristocrats and gentlemen of high accord.

It is not a 9mm as you were seeking, but the very cosmopolitan .380 ACP
I take it someone has a sense of humor
my cousin is a metallurgist and was contracted to make a cheep pistol to flood the S Florida market
the intent was for the pistol to blow up in the hands of the shooter when loaded with modern ammo

Although I don't own any CZ75's, I do have a collection of Tanfoglios - CZ75 clones. Although they have become an upgraded version of the CZ75, they fit my hands and shoot better than any other 9mm that I have shot.

My TA90 is my go to 9mm pistol, but I got a 9mm barrel and spring for my ,41 Action Express (AE) Ultra. I have always loved that gun, but .41 AE is hard to find and expensive. I am beginning to love the Ultra in 9mm.

I've played with a LOT of 9mms in my life. Carried enough of them to list a bunch of them as favorites but I generally find myself drawn to a Glock19. Preferably a gen 5 with a Glock Performance Trigger and XS big dot sights. The Sig 210 sure is a sweetheart at the range and the newly purchased SA Echelon has a lot going for it too 👍

Some that have been through my hands at one time or another:

BHP - Belgium made/assembled
G19 - Gen2
P365 - original micro
S&W M&P 2.0
Sig M11-A1

Now I just prefer a 9mm revolver cause I'm lazy and don't want to chase brass…

I would say out of my list, my favorite has to be the Sig P365 equipped with the 12 round magazines and MagGuts +2 internals. What a compact 14+1 carry option. And accurate too…
Agree it's a great compact option. Shot it back-to-back with 3 other full size 9mms yesterday and for self defense double taps 10-12 yards center mass/head/crotch it held its own. Really accurate for a small gun. Has the cheapo romeo zero dot on it which is tiny and scratches easily but the fact that it has the dot does make a difference.

P365 with the +2 MagGuts in the OEM 12 round magazine. Note the small (1/8") protrusion from the magazine baseplate.
